Strengthening of Senior Executive Management Team

 

Speedy Hire Plc, the UK's leading tools, equipment, plant hire and services company, is pleased to announce that it has completed the strengthening of its senior executive management team with a number of appointments to key roles over the past months, as the Company continues to pursue its strategy of growth through focusing on core hire, specialist solutions and complementary services across strategic, major and regional customer groups.

 

Adrian Murphy has been appointed Chief Operating Officer UK, with responsibility for UK operations along with leading regional and specialist solution sales. Prior to joining Speedy, Adrian worked for United Technologies Corporation, firstly as MD for Chubb Fire and Security Systems, and later as Commercial Director UK, Ireland and Benelux for the Building Industrial Systems division. Prior to this Adrian was MD at Hilti, the Lichtenstein based designer and manufacturer of construction tools and equipment, with responsibility for the UK and Ireland.

 

Tony Bennett has been appointed Corporate Development Officer, with responsibility for strategy, planning, corporate activity, corporate communications and social responsibility. Tony has a demonstrable track record of improving business performance through operational and cultural transformation, both here in the UK and internationally. He has formerly held Executive roles with two global business services organisations, Office Depot Inc. and the Rentokil Initial Group.

 

Steve Giblin has been appointed Group Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality Director. Steve will continue to improve systems, practices and processes to ensure the safety and security of Speedy's people and customers, whilst driving the environmental agenda. Prior to joining Speedy, Steve was Global Head of EHS at Scapa PLC. He has also held roles at United Utilities and British Gas Centrica.

 

Ed Cowell has joined Speedy in the role of Head of Major Accounts, overseeing sales to some of Speedy's largest national customers, many of whom utilise a broad range of products and solutions across diverse sectors. Ed began his career with the British Army and afterwards joined Barclays Private Bank. He joins Speedy from G4S, where he has held a number of senior roles, including International Account Director and most recently as Global Sales Director for the risk management business.
